Dr. Mark Petersen
Owner
Dr. Mark Petersen is a board-certified geriatrician and hormone replacement therapy (HRT) expert who has devoted his entire career to the care of aging adults. He provides comprehensive medical services across nursing homes, assisted living communities, hospice, and palliative care settings.
In addition to his geriatric practice, Dr. Petersen is the owner of Ridge Med Spa, where he offers hormone replacement therapy and medical weight-loss services, blending medical expertise with a patient-centered wellness approach. He is also the owner of Deer Ridge Estate, a wedding and event venue.
Dr. Petersen’s passion is taking care of people. He is widely known for his exceptional customer service skills, compassionate care, and unwavering commitment to improving quality of life at every stage of aging.
Rhonda bordman Executive Interior Director
Rhonda oversees the interiors and décor of Deer Ridge Estate and makes sure every event space is clean, welcoming, and thoughtfully prepared for our weddings, retreats, and family gatherings. Her attention to detail and care for guest experience help make the estate feel special for every celebration.
Rhonda is married to Ted and is a proud mom of two, with four beloved pets and a granddaughter, Remi. When she’s not preparing the estate for events, she loves to travel—especially to beautiful beaches—and cheer on the Kansas City Chiefs.
Laura Snow
Owner
Laura Snow is a Licensed Clinical Social Worker and co-owner of Deer Ridge Estate Event Venue and Ridge Med Spa. With a lifelong passion for healthcare, Laura is dedicated to helping others achieve balance, confidence, and overall well-being. Her professional interests include menopause treatment, skincare, and holistic approaches to feeling good—inside and out.
Laura believes that self-care is not a luxury, but a necessity, and that it’s never too early or too late to prioritize your health and happiness. She is committed to providing exceptional customer service and creating luxury care experiences that pamper, empower, and restore. For Laura, aging is not something to simply “deal with,” but an opportunity to thrive and feel your best at every stage of life.
cody Stand
Grounds & Property Maintenance
Cody is Mark and Laura’s son-in-law and plays a key role in keeping the estate ready for every event. From outdoor maintenance to setup and turnaround, he works behind the scenes to make sure the property looks its best and runs smoothly for weddings, retreats, and family gatherings.
Cody is a dedicated husband and proud dad and brings that same care and reliability to his work at the estate.
Alfredo Castaneda
Bartender
Alfredo has been part of the Deer Ridge Estate family since the beginning. He brings years of bar experience, including running a resort bar in Cancun, Mexico, and has a reputation for crafting great cocktails with ease.
He lives with his wife, Robyn, and their son, Marcus, and loves traveling with family and being a dad.
Becky Sigurdson
Executive Estate Manager/DAY OF COORDINATOR
Becky has led estate operations at Deer Ridge Estate since 2020. She manages bookings, client communication, vendor coordination, and on-site logistics for weddings, retreats, and multi-day events. With more than 20 years of connection to the owners, she brings a deep familiarity with the estate and a strong focus on service and hospitality.
Becky also serves as Deer Ridge’s day-of coordinator, guiding timelines and vendor flow so couples and clients can actually enjoy their event instead of managing it. Seeing people relax into their day and shine surrounded by their favorite people is her favorite part of the work.
When she’s not on property, Becky enjoys traveling, concerts, and time with family and her dog, Sammie.

Grounds & Property Maintenance
Carlos has been part of Deer Ridge Estate since the very beginning and helped build the property from the ground up. His hands-on knowledge of the estate, attention to detail, and wide range of skills keep the grounds looking their best year-round. Guests and clients consistently comment on his great customer service and friendly energy during wedding weekends, retreats, and family gatherings.

Halie and Zach are Becky’s daughter and son-in-law and were married at Deer Ridge themselves, making the estate an especially meaningful place for them. They love bartending events and being part of the celebrations, bringing family, fun, and great energy to wedding weekends.
