Where we began

Dear Deer Ridge Family,

We are so happy to have you here in our first blog post; this has been in the works for a while. Not only did we want to help our couples and guests as much as possible throughout their event-planning process, but we wanted a way for you to get to know us more! Deer Ridge holds a lot of history within its bones, each part of our venue has a beautiful story behind it, and we wanted a way to document and share them with you. We have a lot in store for you and the blog, but first, we decided to share the becoming of Deer Ridge Estate.

In 2016 our fearless leaders and owners, Mark & Laura, had the big idea of creating their own business. However, it was not a wedding venue. The initial plan was a bed and breakfast in their own home to accommodate others while local events were being held! While attending an Inns Keeper Conference, the idea of building an event space came to life. With a lot of advice and outside opinions, they began to consider this big project. They decided to take the leap in 2016; when Mark's daughter Andrea approached them with her dream of getting married on the estate property.

Ground broke on June 16, 2016, and a few short months later, they held their first wedding. On September 17, 2016, Mark and Laura truly saw their future coming to light and could not wait to see where it took them.

Since then, many more improvements and memories have been made to create the event space you see today. We can not wait to share the rest with you.

So remember, celebrate Deer Ridge Style!
